I Congress of primary care of La Rioja aims to improve communication with specialized medicine.

Logroño, April 2012.- La primary care is the gateway ” to the health system and of its professionals depend on referral to other areas. So communication and fluency among professionals is not only necessary, is essential. Aware of this, primary care professionals have convened the 1st Congress of primary care of La Rioja which, in the Centre of health of Arnedo, brought together more than one hundred professionals from the 28th to the 30th of March, and counts on the collaboration of the official school of doctors of La Riojathe Riojan society of family and community medicine, the Association of nursing community, the Government of La Rioja, the Organization care primary without smoke, organization College of nursing, the official College of physiotherapists of La Rioja and the Midwives Association of La Rioja.

For the President of the first Congress of primary care of La Rioja, Dr. Calvo Mercedes, it was necessary to organize a seminar to analyse and improve the communication between primary care practitioners and the second level of healthcare, especially in a context of crisis as the are currently living. Dr. Calvo points out that primary health care is the gateway to the health system and maintain good communication with specialized professionals is essential, because the relationship between professionals has an impact on the patient ”. Points out, Furthermore, that primary care is paramount at the reception of urgent cases. This Congress which, for the first time, will bring together professionals in primary care of La Rioja, is intended to also open a door to restart the regular meetings with the Hospital Foundation of Calahorra and establish bases or guidelines to improve communication between professionals, and therefore the patient care ”.

The first day, March 28, was devoted to the official school of doctors of La Rioja-free communications.
