Caracas, 24 mar (EFE).-the Venezuela President, Hugo Chávez, today traveled to Cuba to start radiotherapy treatment a month after surgery in Havana of a cancerous tumor, recurrence of cancer for which he underwent in June of last year.

Chavez returns to the Cuban capital just a week after returning to his country from Havana, where he spent 21 days recovering from an operation which had its removed a tumor of two centimetres which turned out to be cancerous and which only reported that he is in the pelvic area.

In addition, the Venezuelan President traveled to the Cuban capital on the eve of the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the island.

“now I’m going to Havana to continue working but above all and first of all for the full recovery of my health; I ask God, the God of the armies and armed (…) and the will to fight and live that we all, and I have, everything goes well,” said Chavez at Maiquetia airportthat serves to Caracas

“Come back in a few days,” he added, noting that radiotherapy is charged several days and then will take a break, “so I’m going to be going and coming”, he said.

The representative, that this afternoon a mandatory radio and television chain reported that this treatment will take between four and five weeks, said that “it is possible” that some sessions of radiotherapy are made in Venezuela, something which, he said, are being evaluated.

Chávez, which will again be without delegate any of its functions of Government in all the occasions that since June of last year travelled to the island, said to be “beyond same crossing the Caribbean in full powers and conditions to continue ruling the country from”.

He recalled that his return to the island takes place one month after the operation. “It is good that this body is a soldier”, exclaimed, and stressed that the surgery was “not easy”, but his body is “ready”, “reacted well” and “all vital signs are fine”.

“Yesterday removed me the last points that I had of the operation” reiterated President, who days earlier had reported that needed healing following the intervention of the tumour to start radiotherapy.

Again explained that his treatment in Cuba is due to that was on the island where detected you in June of cancer last year; where he operated emergency and where he returned to intervene last month.

, Chávez was operated on 10 June last year of a pelvic abscess in Havana at the end of a tour by Brazil, Ecuador and Cuba, and later he detected cancer in the pelvic area that underwent surgery the day of that month.

After these operations, the Venezuelan leader underwent four sessions of chemotherapy which ended in September, after which the representative had given for curing disease.
