This figure is a decrease in accidents of 4.57 per cent from the month of September, decline which has been most notable in minor accidents. In the first ten months of the year are recorded 43.379 accidents, representing an annual fall of 10.5%.

If we compare these data with the same period of the year 2010, the construction is the sector where more is noticed this reduction in accidents, registering 20% less of mishaps; It is followed by the industry, where accidents have suffered down 11.4%; services have been decreasing the number of incidents a 7.8%; and the agricultural sector has suffered from a more moderate decline of 0.5%.

Catalonia is the autonomous community that more accidents reported, with 78.605 accidents; It is followed by number Andalusia with 64.287 labour mishaps; While third placed the community of Madrid, with 60.077 suffered accidents.

Minor accidents that have needed low medical during the month of September declined 10,65% for the month of September; serious accidents have done so by 13.4%; While mortals have occurred 16.9% less, for which the number of deaths from work-related accident has placed at 44.

The European Pharmacists Forum held his last seminar 2011.

Barcelona, December of 2011- the European Forum of pharmacists (EPF in its acronym in English) has concluded this month its fourth workshop in 2011, in Monaco. The seminar, which took place at the Meridien Beach Plaza Hotel, have assisted members of the EPF from ten countries and several of the speakers.

For two days, attendees had the opportunity to listen to several speakers, as well as participate in a series of group workshops to examine key aspects of the European pharmacy, including the development of the Office of pharmacy services.

This has been the first seminar of Dr. Andrew Lane as President of the EPF. The first day, Lane welcomed all the members of the Forum and presented to Isabelle Adenot, President of the national order of pharmacists French, who talked about the evolution of the French pharmaceutical sector and the impact of the economic crisis in the Gallic country. Subsequently, Jeff George, global head of Sandoz, spoke about the progress and impact biotech products and generic drugs in the pharmaceutical business. Ornella Barra, Executive President of the pharmaceutical wholesale division of Alliance Boots, closed the first day with an update of the activities developed by Alliance Boots and the important role played by the group within the Pharmacy at European level.

The second day, Stefano Pessina, Executive Chairman of Alliance Boots, held a Conference on the future of the pharmaceutical distribution followed by a question time. He later spoke of politics that is following the EU and the latest political events in the hands of Andrew Bonser, director of public policy of Alliance Boots.

In this regard, Dr. Lane said: “ given the increasingly difficult economic environment we are living, is more important than ever for pharmacists from all over Europe, confront together, the pressures of the market. As the new President of the European Pharmacists Forum, I am very focused on highlighting the work being done by the EPF and continue joining forces so that pharmacists have a collective voice stronger throughout Europe. Something which, in turn, help to promote the profession of pharmaceutical forward in these difficult times ”.

The European Pharmacists Forum (in English EPF, European Pharmacists Forum) was established in 1999 at the initiative of Alliance UniChem, which merged in 2006 with Boots PLC to create the Alliance Boots group.

The main objective of the EPF is promoting a European and horizontal approach to the pharmaceutical profession and pharmacists from different countries gather to discuss ideas and share key messages.

The Forum also helps to Alliance Boots and its distribution Division to strengthen collaboration with the pharmaceutical profession and develop their services to European pharmacists.

The EPF holds four annual seminars in various European capitals, involving pharmaceuticals and authorities related to the pharmaceutical sector of United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Netherlands and Switzerland.
