Asunción, 26 mar ( EFE).-the Ministry of health of Paraguay today reported two new deaths from dengue fever, with what the number of deaths from the disease rose to seven, a total of 2,486 confirmed cases.

New cases of deceased are two older adults that they were suffering from chronic diseases and were hospitalized in the central hospital of the Institute of Social Welfare, in Asuncion, the health agency said in a statement reported.

The source explained that from January to today were reported 6.475 notifications of patients with symptoms of dengue, which 2.486 were positive to the disease, 3.160 still pending confirmation and 829 were discarded.

The director of the Office of health monitoring of the portfolio in the industry, Iván Allende, explained at a press conference that the epidemic is concentrated in Asunción and the metropolitan area, as well as in the Central Department, adjacent to the capital.

“people with complication risk factors must be provided with immediate assistance and listed as priority for his hospitalization in the entire system of health care,” remarked the officer.
