Andalusia presented its strategy in biomedical research at the European fair of companies biotechnological.

BioEurope 2011, which was held until yesterday in Germany, brought together more than 2,700 delegates from more than 1,500 companies in the sector from 48 countries of the world.

Andalusia, 2011-November Andalusia took part in the 5th International Fair of companies in the biotechnology sector, BioEurope 2011, an event of reference at European level which have gathered more 2,700 professionals from more than 1,500 companies from 48 countries, and which has been present through the Andalusian initiative of advanced therapies and the Office of technology transferthe public health system in Andalusia (OTT-SSPA) ed.

This international fair is a space for the meeting between companies and entities, both public and private, of the biotechnology industry – specifically in the field of health — and an ideal forum for making contact with different companies attending the event and the achievement of agreements of collaboration and future alliances in biotechnology.

In this sense, both Andalusian entities have enabled a joint exhibitor to give all details of the strategy of the Junta de Andalucía in biomedical research that takes place in the heart of the Andalusian health system, from its conception until the transfer of results of scientific practice. To do this, they remain around thirty meetings with companies in the sector at the international level. Pharmaceutical companies, manufacturers of surgical teams, tissue, cell therapy, therapy advanced in general engineering, will meet these technological offers meetings are available in the public health system in Andalusia – which are the result of the work of the various research groupsas well as the potential of the public health system of Andalucía and its ability to generate new business opportunities in the field of biotechnology. The interest of biotechnology companies in the field of health by Andalusia has grown in parallel to the consolidation of the public health system as an organizational model of quality, with high levels of scientific and medical excellence and whose size equals that of some European countries.

Promoting health research

Office of technology transfer, within the Foundation public Andalusian progress and health – central entity for support and management for research in the public health system of Andalucía-, is an agency network and regional character that coordinates the activity of transfer and protection of the results of the research carried out by professionals of the centers of the Andalusian health in the various provinces of the autonomous community.

Its lines of work to respond to the premise that research carried out in the public health system in Andalusia has as final object the achievement of a knowledge applicable in terms of health and, therefore, a positive value in society in general.

On the other hand, with the launch of the Andalusian initiative in advanced therapies, Andalusia has established the necessary mechanisms to encourage the development and implementation of advanced therapies so that, in a coordinated manner and with the support of universities, pharmaceuticals, private enterprises, researchers and patient associations, you can make a qualitative leap and implementation research in health as a competitive element of the community.
