Scientists found that chewing gum can corrode your teeth. Teams from the universities of Boston, Helsinki and Nevada found that exists in acid flavouring products without sugar. The information is from the Daily Mail.

researchers have said that an alternate group of sugar alcohols or polyols, including xylitol and sorbitol, can reduce the risk of caries. But, the substances increase the acidity of the mouth, which erodes the tooth enamel. The elements are present mainly in gums with fruit aromas. The sorbitol and xylitol, besides increasing dental erosion may cause gastric disturbances and diarrhoea. A spokesman for the Wrigley chewing gum company said that people only need to worry about whether to consume large amount of gum
