Spain, 2011-October for people of the third age of Madrid districts of Chamberà and Moncloa, the Hospital ClÃnico San Carlos Zarco classroom has organized a series of workshops aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle habits to the professionals of the Hospital who taught them in larger centres. They deal with aspects of health care for the skin, food, heart health, ill-treatment, etc., with recommendations for aging with health.
This new project in the classroom Social Zarco coordinates Nicolás DÃaz-Toledo, intends to conduct a workshop to the month in the various centres of older, starting in the area of Chamberà and Moncloa, although they are also studying various ways of collaboration with other institutions. It is intended to also get elders visit the Hospital, participate in discussions and activities aimed at improving their health.
The first of these workshops, conducted in the center of Blasco de Garay, was directed by the doctors Eduardo López-Bran and Javier Pedraz, Chief and Deputy of the Clinical Dermatology service who talked about the straight cleaning and moisturizing of the foot and as preventing skin problems more frequent at this stage of life as the fragility, dryness and desquamation, spots, senile Purpura, alterations in the growth of the hair and nails, senile telangiectasia.
At the end of all the programmed workshops, speakers respond to all questions posed by attendees, who will be a model of post evaluation activity, to observe the level of satisfaction and appreciation of the content, organization, and teachers, as well as suggestions and ideas to incorporate into the workshops.
Experience with optimal results
These workshops were added to the 25 classroom Zarco has organized in schools to promote healthy habits in pupils in primary education, this high school and vocational training and taught throughout the school year. We also have designed specific workshops for teachers, parents and auxiliary staff of educational institutions, dealing with topics such as food allergies or first aid.
Given voluntarily by professionals in the Hospital San Carlos, these workshops address topical issues such as drugs, disorders of nutrition, organ donation, violence of gender, smoking, health oral, AIDS, accidents of traffic, etc …, and are having a good acceptance from schools that demonstrate in a request that he is receiving the classroom, other schools from outside Madrid.
A space of social disclosure
