Alzira, 2011-September El Hospital Universitario de La Ribera is nominated in 10 categories in the sixth edition of the prestigious National Awards Best in Class. These awards grants annually the publication specializing in the health sector medical Gazette and the Chair of innovation and management health of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, in collaboration with the Spanish Association for standardisation and certification (AENOR).

With these 10 nominations, La Ribera is the hospital that has more nominations received among selected 58 of all Spain, include some of the most important health centres in the country.

Services for which the Centre of Alzira chooses to awards are internal medicine, Nephrology, Pediatrics, urology, psychiatry, security clinic, trauma, Diabetes unit, unit of pain and schizophrenia.

These reputable prizes will take place in the course of the ceremony on Wednesday, October 5 at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos in Seville. In this edition there have been 306 health services of the national health system, belonging to 14 autonomous communities. In this sense, in the Act shall be granted a total of 30 awards are further subdivided into 28 categories for the hospital services the best hospital and to the best health centre.

The objective of these awards is to publicly acknowledge the best primary care center, the best hospital and the best services or units of the national territory, both public and private, seeking excellence in the care they provide to their patients.

To be nominated the jury evaluates each hospital, unit or service based on some objective criteria, index ICAP (index of quality of care to the patient), that allows to analyze the data collected in a few specific forms depending on the modality of the prize to the OPTs. AENOR collaborates with these awards on-site to monitor that the information contained in the questionnaires is true.

Madrid, 2011-September the Group Ballesol, in its constant quest to seek the best care and quality of care to its residents, has developed the specialized program of care for residents with advanced dementia “ people always ”. Spain, 2011-September the Vice-Counsellor of healthcare, Patricia Flores, kicked off the academic degree of Medicine of the Universidad Europea de Madrid. The University Hospital of Getafe thus receives the second promotion of students joining already more than 90 students in training that professionals of the Center distribute the pregraduada teaching.

Furthermore, 1.428 residents of four specialities (Psychiatry, family medicine and community medicine occupational and preventive medicine and public health) rotate throughout their training by various hospital services and primary care. Other 330 residents complete their training as specialists in nursing in Madrid health institutions.

The formation of our future doctors and nurses is carried in the different faculties of some 760 faculty, of which 70 would be professors, approximately 140 holders and 550 partners.

Second cycle training

The community of Madrid is a landmark in the teaching I undergraduate and postgraduate medical studies, since it has 1,290 spaces for that second cycle of eight faculties medicine students (Complutense, autonomous Madrid, Alcalá de Henares, King Juan Carlos, Alfonso X “ El Sabio ”, Francisco de Vitoria, San Pablo CEU and Europea de Madrid)made their practices in the regional administration centres.

To develop the práctico-clínica training of nursing students, have also signed cooperation agreements between the Laín Entralgo Agency and the Madrid health service universities Alfonso X “El Sabio”, Autónoma de Madrid, Madrid Complutense, AlcaláEuropean Madrid, Francisco de Vitoria, Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Pontificia de Salamanca, King Juan Carlos, and San Pablo CEU.

Balancing teaching and assistance
