Madrid, 2011-December between 3 and 7% of school-age children suffer from attention deficit and hyperactivity (ADHD) disorder. Its incidence is higher in males, in part because it manifests itself most notably in girls, who are diagnosed later and less often.

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder and tends to be more common in children. The genetic implication is very high and more than 70% of diagnosed cases are related to the family inheritance. In this sense, according to the Spanish society of Pediatric Extrahospitalaria and primary care (SEPEAP), psycho-social factors can also influence the evolution of ADHD. Tobacco, alcohol, and to a lesser extent, prematurity and fetal distress can cause the development of this disorder.

The first signs of this disorder often present at pre-school ages and become evident during the school stage. In this way, there are multiple symptoms that are identified with inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. The number of granted permanent disability pension is reduced nearly 10% since 2009.

Spain, December of 2011- the number of pension granted in 2010 was 7.25 per cent lower than those that occurred in 2009, a decline which saw 7,107 incapacity pensions less granted by the Government. In 2010, permanent disability pensions payroll amounted to 81,4 million euros and the average amount of this stood at 895,89 EUR. According to data published by the Ministry of labour and immigration, this decrease in the number of granted pension has been recording since 2007 – with the exception of 2009 that saw an increase of 0.68%-.

In the first ten months of the year this trend continues, declining the granting of pension for permanent incapacity 3.2% for 2010, being the month of April which recorded the biggest fall, with a drop of 17.7% in the high. The rest of occupational pensions granted during the 2010 also descended over the 2009 to fall by 1.8%.

Spain, December of 2011- the Spanish Federation of pharmaceutical distributors (FEDIFAR) wants to congratulate Ana Mato on his appointment as Minister of health, social services and equality within the Executive headed by the President of the GovernmentMariano Rajoy.

FEDIFAR is put at the disposal of the new ministerial team to discuss the issues that affect the pharmaceutical distribution sector in general and the health of the population, commitment that these companies have already demonstrated on previous occasions.
