Madrid, January 2013- As a result of the confusing information that are circulating on the new model of private prescription (Royal Decree 1718 / 2010), the medical collegiate organization wants to make the following clarifications: the prescription is the document health status, standardized and mandatory whereby doctorsdentists or podiatrists, legally empowered to do so, and in the scope of their respective competences, prescribe patients drugs or health products subject to medical prescription, for its dispensation in pharmacies. The recipe is valid throughout the national territory and is published in the official language of the State and the respective minority language in the autonomous communities which have, in accordance with the regulations; and it ensures that prescribed treatment can be dispensed to the patient at any pharmacy in the country office. The prescription as standard document supposed a fundamental means for the transmission of information between health care professionals and a guarantee for the patient, allowing a correct therapeutic compliance and obtaining the maximum of treatment efficiency.
