record for nominations to award Banco Sabadell to biomedical research

A total of 56 researchers from across the country choose the prestigious award, which fails on 29 May. The provision of the prize, of 50,000 euros, in a difficult economic time for science, explains the success of the call

Spain, 2012-may as many nominations as this year had registered in any of the six previous editions of Banco Sabadell Prize: 18 scientists from Catalonia and the rest of Spain 38under the age of 42, they compete in this edition to be recognition of a jury made up of the most prominent exponents of the biomedical research in our country.

Nominations come from the best centers of research, universities and hospitals in Spain and confirm the prestige achieved by Banco Sabadell Prize for biomedical research among the scientific community in our country. The uniqueness of the prize, worth 50,000 euros, in a difficult economic time for research, also explains the success of the call.

The failure of the prize will announce it the President of the jury, Dr. Carlos López-Otín, next Tuesday day 29 in Madrid and the award ceremony will be on June 26 in Barcelona. The prize is awarded to a young researcher career and intends to cooperate with the present and the future of biomedical science in our country.
