There agreed with the director general of the Centre, Prof. Rolf Heuer, broaden the Argentine participation in the experiment that seeks to reproduce the first moments of the universe.

In particular, Barañao and Heuer talked about increasing the amount of Argentine research groups working at CERN and the role that our country can have in the provision of new equipment of the Collider accelerator hardware.

During his tour facilities at CERN, Barañao was accompanied by Argentine scientists DRA. María Teresa Dova and Dr. Ricardo Piegaia.

In addition, in the center of the computer Control the Minister spoke with Argentine PhD students who are to carry out monitoring of the functioning of the Hadron Collider. The Ministry of science, technology and productive innovation has contributed more than $1,500,000 since 2007 to finance projects and support the participation of Argentine researchers in this initiative

After his visit to Switzerland, the Minister Lino Barañao met in France with his pair of higher education and research, Laurent Wauquiez. There, both officials agreed the establishment an Argentine associated research laboratory in the area of the development of new methodologies for the production of drugs.

This lab will include the participation of CONICET and its French equivalent of the CNRS, among others.
