Madrid, 2011-August the Spanish Confederation of groupings of family members and persons with Mental illness (FEAFES) invites individuals and institutions in the field of mental health to submit their work to the fourteenth Prize Jaime Albert Solana 2011 until on September 5.

The award recognizes for 13 years the best actions for the dissemination of knowledge of mental illness in the health, social, labor, and/or legal field work carried out by institutions and individuals in the research on mental illness in different areas, as well as programmes for the improvement of the social image of people with this type of disorders.

All those natural or legal persons may participate in this award to members of the FEAFES Confederation or related to it, and scientific or academic institutions that are responsible for any project, research or study that contributes to the understanding of mental illness and the fight against the social stigma surrounding this area.

The award is a prize money of 6,000 euros which will be awarded to the best project for the improvement of the social awareness of mental illness in a positive way. The possibility of continuity or replicability of the works presented shall be assessed.

The jury will make public its decision during the month of November, 2011 and will be composed of professionals of recognized prestige and by José María Sánchez Monge, President of the convener, who shall act as Secretary.
