Core of dentistry aims to maintain the oral health of patients < span id = "more-11729" > and treat sequelae caused by cancer treatment. the originality of the work done by the children’s Cancer Institute of Dentistry (ICI-RS) can be recognized with the Finep Innovation Prize 2012. The project “transforming Smiles of the children’s Cancer Institute” competes in assistive technology and Social Technology. Promoted by the Brazilian Innovation Agency, the award was established to recognize and promote innovative efforts made by companies, non-profit institutions and Brazilian inventors developed in Brazil and already applied in the country or abroad. In ICI-RS, the nucleus provides a close relationship between the children with cancer and their need for dental treatment.
