The municipal group of Bildu in Oyón, Alava town situated about six kilometres from Logroño, has claimed the Basque Government to “boost” the Leza Hospital to give a “definitive” solution to the problem generated by the decision of the Riojan Executive to provide specialized assistance to patients from neighboring Alava municipalities.

Through a statement, the coalition has warned that the “transitional” agreement that traded both administrations “does not mean that it is finished with a problem of attention that it should have solved decades ago”.

Bildu in the municipality of Oyón group has stated that it is necessary that hospital Leza chronically ill, in the South of Alava, becomes a regional hospital, so that it can offer specialized assistance to residents of that area. Thus, would be avoided that these patients had to travel up to Logroño or Vitoria, located about 70 km

To this end, it has proposed “enhance” the aforementioned health centre and “exploit” existing infrastructures. In his view, the first thing to do is “remove” laboratory of the hospital service

Bildu has complained that this proposal has been “parked” with the votes of the remaining groups in the municipality of Oyón. In his view, the conversion of Leza in a regional hospital is the only way to give a “definitive” solution to the health problem of the residents of Rioja Alavesa.
