action will engage professionals, students and employees in a work of awareness and prevention among the population sãojorgense.

the work of evaluation and monitoring will have the participation of the Dra. Cíntia de Souza Araújo, stomatological and teacher Ensign of dentistry Unipar. “This work will assist in the prevention and clarification of the population about this evil that is present in the reality of public health,” says campaign coordinator, Edna Calloi, technique in

oral health.

the factors that can lead to oral cancer are older than 40 years, addiction to smoking pipes and cigarette, alcohol consumption, poor oral hygiene and dental prostheses usage ill-fitting. The main symptom of this type of cancer is the appearance of mouth sores that won’t heal in a week

.

Other symptoms are superficial ulcerations, with less than 2 cm in diameter, painless (and may bleed or not) and reddish or whitish patches on the lips or buccal mucosa. Difficulty talking, chewing and swallowing, besides weight loss, pain and the presence of cervical linfadenomegalia (lump in the neck) are signs of mouth cancer in advanced stage

next Saturday, several professionals will attend to the population, from 09:00 to 04:00 pm, in the Central health clinic, located at Avenida Nelson Bernabé de Mello, No 417.
