El General de Castello closed the year in celebration of its 45th anniversary with a tribute to its staff.

Spain, January 2013.- Castello General Hospital has closed its 45th anniversary year paying homage to their staff, who began his career in 1967, its inaugural year, and who remains in active or retired throughout this commemorative year.

To do so, the Commission’s direction of the General Castelló proposed the Conseller de Sanitat that it granted 11 mentions of Honor of the Conselleria de Sanidad in recognition of meritorious career of these workers over 45 years of service.

After its assessment, has distinguished itself with the mention of Honor of the Conselleria of health to MIguel Marzá, caretaker Assistant autopsies, to Francisco Nebot, plumber, to auxiliary administrative, Mª Carmen Mut, Mª Carmen Galí and Angelines Tena; to supporting nursing Amparo Piñana and Manuela Jovena, in addition to Mª Carmen Grifo, technical anatomical pathology; Rosa Beltran, Teresa Castro and Mª Dolores Peris administrative and management.

El General Hospital of Castello has fulfilled this year, specifically in the month of February, its 45th anniversary (1967-2012), with the same mission with which was born, giving a quality service to users of the Departament de Salut de Castelló.

It has been 45 years in which all the staff of the Centre has done important work in the improvement of the health of the lledo, for this purpose there are many investments in the maintenance and expansion of facilities, and for the acquisition of leading-edge technology, which has allowed to have services and reference units and excellent professional teams to solve the health problems of the populationCastellón on.

In 1967, the inauguration of which is called residence health our Lady of the sacred heart was a breakthrough for the city. In fact, on February 20, 1967 was recorded the first intervention. It was a caesarean that was, also, the birth of these facilities to the public service. It was not until June when it was inaugurated officially.

The residence Nuestra Señora del Sagrado Corazón had a total of 204 beds, although already then projected that the figure of 500 could reach. So, State destined to these facilities 643,000 euros (107 billion pesetas), and invested EUR 150,000 (25 million pesetas) in equipment.

At present, Castelllo General Hospital, that Francisco Pérez, as Manager, directs counts a total of 580 beds and 40 medical specialties are met. All this to ensure direct coverage to 307.570 inhabitants and, indirectly, of the entire province of Castellón, with more than 602.000.
