More than 100 countries seek in Nairobi set positions to the River 20 Conference

Nairobi, 19 feb ( EFE).-representatives of more than a hundred countries, including 80 Ministers, will meet in Nairobi from tomorrow to set positions before the Conference of the United Nations on Sustainable development (Río+20), to be hosted by Brazil next June. The 12th Special meeting of the Governing Council of the United Nations programme for the environment (UNEP) and the Global Forum of Environment Ministers held in Kenya until February 23 capital. Attendees included Secretary of State Spanish of environment, Federico Ramos, whose country holds the Presidency of the Council of Administration UNEP for the second consecutive year, and the Brazilian Minister of environment, Izabella Teixeira, whose country, as host, will play a key role in Río+20. The appointment of UNEP – which come also scientists, entrepreneurs and civil society groups – will be the last meeting that kept Ministers responsible for environment before Río+20, which will take place in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro from 20 to 22 June. Nick Nuttall, UNEP spokesperson told Efe that Ministers are facing the task of “shape and finalize the end positions” on the two big issues that will address Río+20: the green economy and international environmental governance. United States sends ship to northern Haiti to fulfil humanitarian mission

Port-au-Prince, 18 feb (EFE).-A military ship United States docked at Cap-Haïtien (North of Haiti) to carry out a humanitarian mission of three weeks which includes the donation of medical and educational materials by some four million dollars, said the Embassy in Port-au-Prince today. The Swift HSV-2 is part of a mission of the command South of the United States ending in Haiti a tour that included Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Peru and Panama. The diplomatic Communique stressed that 90 members of the ship will be tasks of construction, health, security and port operations which include the repair of a school and a rural clinic for the benefit of the 14,000 inhabitants of the community of Caracol, in the southeast of Cap-Haïtien. The crew of the ship will also work in the training of members of the national police and will discuss with experts from the Haitian Ministry of health on public and veterinary care. In addition, the American military delivered educational materials to several non-governmental organizations of Mirebalais (Center) and Cap-Haïtien, as part of a program that runs the United States Navy.UU. designed to raise charitable donations from the private sector in that country and deliver them to needy foreign communities. Sleep less than six hours increases the risk of diabetes and heart problems

Added 44 dead for reasons linked to winter in Mexico

Mexico, 18 feb (EFE).-the current winter season has left 44 deaths in Mexico as a result of low temperatures as hypothermia, burns and carbon monoxide poisoning, reported today the Secretariat (Ministry) of health. The unit said in a statement that 44 deaths were recorded since October of last year to February 16. The unit said in a statement that of deaths this season, 31 were due to poisoning with carbon monoxide, 11 to hypothermia and 2 to burn. The majority of deaths occurred in the States of the North of the country, and of these Chihuahua registered 21, 4 Sonora, Baja California and Durango 6 3, Hidalgo 3, 2 Guanajuato, while to Nuevo León, Coahuila, Aguascalientes, Puebla and Jalisco, one in each State occurred.
