WHO analyzes the limits on the dissemination of studies on influenza avian

Geneva, 16 feb (EFE).-the World Health Organization (who) meeting today in Geneva to scientists who will analyse the recent studies on the flu virus avian (H5N1) and discuss if it is necessary or desirable to publish them, given the possible danger that are used for non-research purposes. At the meeting, which will last two days, involved two dozen scientists from Australia, United States, France, Great Britain and Holland, and Asian countries such as China, Indonesia, Japan and Viet Nam, affected especially by this virus. In mid-December of last year knew that 38 scientists from universities, Erasmus of Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and Wisconsin (United States), led by Dutch virologist Ron Fouchier, had discovered five genetic mutations that the H5N1 virus can suffer for his infection among persons. The objective of the Dutch study, which has been funded by the National Institute of American health care, sought to get the information necessary to prevent a possible pandemic caused by this variant of flu. To do so, were trying to create the vaccine that would protect against new strains. Scientists were about to publish their results in the journals Nature and Science, but were pressured to do so by the health authorities of United States, who feared that, if publicly sharing this knowledge, they could eventually be used by terrorists to create a bioweapon. 13,000 Years ago there was already evidence of human social differentiation

(www.neomundo.com.ar/_CSIC) the complete village, called Qarassa 3, consists of 12 cottages, two of which show a level of complexity than the rest. According to the researcher of the CSIC in the Milá institution and Fontanals Juan José Ibáñez, “this feature could indicate a difference in the social role of its inhabitants”. Of the cabins, the base of the walls, erected with basaltic stones is preserved. Thanks to them, we know that the rooms were circular, between four and five meters in diameter. The existence of post holes suggests that the cover and the elevation of the walls were vegetable matter. The two houses with a higher level of complexity are those that are located in the southern part of the town. One of them presents internal divisions and a small indoor platform end, and the other consists of a pit and two outer platforms associated to the gateway. For the person in charge of the excavation, the researcher at the CSIC in the center that Ibáñez, Xavier Terradas, “the structuring of the interior space is a key finding in the history of architecture”. Stays are between 12-16 square meters of surface, which is why Terradas interprets that the town should consist of between 40 and 60 individuals. The CSIC researcher explains: “the distribution of all of them, adjacent, but not overlapping and organized in the form of an ancient...

Snickers manufacturer will make their chocolates “on a diet”

(Reuters) – Mars Inc., maker of Snickers and Twix, will stop selling chocolate products with more than 250 calories from next year, said a spokeswoman for the firm. The firm headquartered in Virginia, United States, which also produces the M & M candies and Skittles, said that the goal is part of an effort already under way to improve the nutritional product value and sell them in a responsible manner. Several U.S. media, including national public Radio reported on the reduction of the Mars chocolate bars...
