Brazilian scientists tested new remedy against AIDS for children

Brasilia, 13 mar (EFE).-the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), a reference in Brazil Research Center, will begin to test in humans a drug developed especially to deal with AIDS in children, official sources reported today. The tests will begin in the second half of this year and it is estimated that, if they prove successful, the drug will be available on the market as from 2014, according to the forecasts of the scientists of this public institution. According to the Brazil Agency (official), Fiocruz researchers gathered in a single compressed active principles lamivudine, zidovudine and nevirapine, three of the 16 used in the combat against AIDS. This compressed contains dose appropriate for children and also it was sweetened with other components, with the aim that its taste is more pleasant and does not engender rejection. Prestige Brands rejects offer of Mexican Genomma
