GuíaSalud presents its first mobile application.

-this application is free and allows you to access and consultation of guidelines of the programme guides practice clinic of the national health system

-From this mobile application health workers and any citizen can access quick and intuitive clinical practice guidelines

Zaragoza, February 2012.- GuíaSalud – clinical practice guides library has developed a mobile application that allows access to the guides of práClinic (GPC) practice developed within the framework of the national system of health (SNS) GPC program.

Clinical practice guidelines are recommendations developed systematically to help professionals and patients make decisions about appropriate health care and select the diagnostic and therapeutic options most appropriate in dealing with a problem or condition of health específ co.

The GuíaSalud application aims to provide access in a simple and intuitive way to clinical questions, recommendations, and algorithms of the GPC. Thus, NHS professionals, patients, and in general, any citizen can consult this information based on the evidence in any site through their mobile devices.

Currently the GuíaSalud application allows access to 19 clinical practice guides covering various diseases and health conditions (eating disorders, mental health, cardiovascular or respiratory, problems among others), as well as download versions of them, including information for patients, and the consultation of the novelties of the Portal GuíaSalud (events)(, news, etc.).

This application is free and is available for Iphone OS and Android systems. You can download from January 31 in App Store and Android Market.

The application is a step forward in the development and dissemination of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines científ ca in support of decision-making professionals and patients in the NHS.

On GuíaSalud:

GuíaSalud is an agency of the SNS involving the 17 autonomous communities, approved by the Interterritorial Council in 2003, as an instrument for improving the quality of health care in the NHS and financed by the Ministry of health.

GuíaSalud coordinates the program of GPC in the NHS which works closely with the agencies and units for the evaluation of health technologies for the development, dissemination and implementation of guidelines based on the best available evidence following a homogeneous and proven methodology.
