“To prevent infections you must use safe water for drinking, washing raw food and personal hygiene of hands”, stated the Minister of health, Alexander Collia.

Water-borne diseases include cholera, diarrhoea, hepatitis A and food toxiinfección. For this reason, in case of contamination of the water, the steps to follow before drinking son:

** use 2 drops of chlorine per litre of water and let stand for 30 minutes or boiling water for 5 minutes

should be used for the cleaning of houses, baths and latrines,:

** A liter of chlorine in 9 liters of water (1 cup of tea in 10 litres of water).

In case of using water from wells, fixed or movable tanks, should proceed to its chlorination.

In both infectious diseases caused by pathogens that plain water, are: leptospirosis, hantavirus, and Argentine hemorrhagic fever.

For these infections, preventive measures son:

** Avoid plunge into stagnant water

** Control rodents of the domicile and peridomiciliary.

** Avoid dry cleaning locations closed in presence of rodents. In the first instance ventilate the place, then perform tasks of cleaning with chlorinated water, gloves, protection of conjunctival and respiratory track.
