The aim of these meetings is to address issues involving Hispanic communities and share knowledge with the Administration to discuss issues involving about 500 federal services, detailing the report published by the Office of public participation in the White House and the initiative for educational excellence for Hispanic.

“The future of our country depends on the future of our Hispanic communities.” “We know that Hispanics are the fastest growing group in our country, but the Government has the responsibility to understand what this means for the growth of federal policies,” said Jose Rico, director of the initiative for educational excellence for Hispanic.

Press Conference, the senior official explained that the meetings provide a unique opportunity to listen to an important growing segment of the U.S. population.

“Latinos have a great impact on the history of our country, in public education, the labour force and in the economy, which is why the success of our nation and the success of this community are the same thing,” insisted Rico.

These summits are focused, explained the Director of the Council of internal policy of the White House, Cecilia Muñoz, to analyze several specific areas such as education, health, economic development and Immigration Affairs, to make the Obama administration work based on the impressions of the Hispanic community.

Discussions were initiated in the regional community action summits held across the country, where the White House officials spent several days of “long conversations” about the everyday problems faced by Hispanic communities, said Muñoz.

According to the report, the commitment to the leaders of the Hispanic community in the regional meetings of the past year have helped to establish dozens of new partnerships, provide technical assistance and support to small businesses.

“We also must highlight the work of educating employers and employees”, they must learn to manage protection in the workplace and they need to improve access to health care, says the report.

The text also emphasizes how the summits have served as forums for the bodies of the Administration to introduce new initiatives.

The White House has held more than one dozen Hispanic summits of Community action in 14 cities across 8 States since last summer, and several more are planned for the coming months.

Julie Chavez, Associate Director of the Office of participation of the public of the White House, explained that these regional summits were inspired by a political conference in the White House, in which more than 160 Hispanic of 25 States leaders met with more than one hundred officers of the Obama administration to deal with the President’s agenda.

“Talk about how move better and improve outcomes for Hispanic communities with regard to the full range of policy issues and initiatives which should be dealt with at the federal level,” added Chavez.
