Johannesburg, 26 feb (EFE).-the South Africa former President Nelson Mandela, 93 years old, today left the hospital after undergoing Saturday a laparoscopy to examine the origin of a long abdominal pain, today reported South African Presidency.

“The doctors have decided to send him home after checking that the tests did not show any serious problem”, said the South African Government in a statement released today.

“The President Zuma would like to thank the public for their good wishes and support (the former President Nelson Mandela), added the Presidency on the official note.

Hours earlier, South African Minister of defence, Lindiwe Sisulu, assured that the 1993 peace Nobel Prize was entered to get a laparoscopy, a little invasive, which allows to observe the abdominal cavity of the patient technical.

“There was nothing serious.” “The reason why drove you to the hospital is because it experienced continuing discomfort,” said Sisulu at an appearance before the media at the Parliament in Cape Town, in words collected by the South African Agency Sapa.

Few days before his 93 birthday in July 2011, Mandela was moved to his home in Qunu, place where he spent his youth, accompanied by a medical team.

The last public appearance Mandela, affectionately known as Madiba, was in the final of the football world, South Africa of 2010, who won Spain.
