Sport Foundation and challenge with Pilates Foundation closure the course of pilates aimed at people with disabilities, which has been carried out thanks to the sponsorship of Social work ‘ la Caixa ’.

Madrid, July of 2012. Ends a new course in Pilates, organized by the Sports Foundation and challenge, with the collaboration of Pilates Foundation and sponsored by Obra Social ‘ la Caixa ’, has achieved that people with disabilities can get visible improvements in their physical and mental condition.

Some say that the Pilates method is much more than a set of exercises: it is a way of thinking and a way of life… This is have seen what you 10 participants of this course that have different benefits, greater strength and muscular endurance, more flexibility in the joints, and an increase in postural control.

The program began in March and has received 12 sessions where we have sought a comprehensive work of the mind, body and spirit; a very complete body education is works from the upper muscles to the bottom, and involving equally and in harmony the mind and the body.

el Professor Ricardo Jaramillo, who teaches a course in the center of pilates Wellness and Energy (Plaza San Juan de la Cruz, 5-Madrid), working with students to enhance their sense of balance and awareness of breathing through the exercises, which translates into greater autonomy, and has as a resultthe end of the course, an increase in self-esteem and sociability of the participants.

For the course, the Center has optimum facilities, where there are various units of Pilates that can be adapted to each person, allowing each student to progress at their own pace, taking into account their individual capacities.

Challenge and the Sport Foundation is a private institution non-profit that is aimed at the social integration of people with physical, intellectual or sensory disabilities through sport.

Also contributes to the vocational training and labour insertion of its participants, combining the Organization of sporting activities with courses aimed at their integration into the labour market, thus enabling full integration.
