CARACAS (Reuters) – the Chairman of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, will offer a speech Tuesday live from Cuba, where treated with radiation therapy to combat cancer that keeps intermittent in its functions of Government a few months of the presidential election.

Chávez began Saturday in Havana the treatment which will require five cycles of radiation and that marks the beginning of a series of “comings and goings” to and from the island.

The official media reported late on Monday that they expect that the Socialist representative conducted a telephone contact live and although they did not offer more information, is expected to talk about the progress of the medication.

“We hope that the message will be around noon,” said a spokesman for the Presidential Palace of Miraflores, who preferred not to give his name to not be authorized to declare.

The military retired 57-year-old who looks for a further period of six years to join the 13 already has in the Presidency, underwent surgery for the third time this year to remove a small tumor of the pelvis which marked the recurrence of cancer who was cured.

Since June of 2011, when he underwent two surgeries and then chemotherapy session, Chavez has constantly traveled to Havana and from there it has approached Venezuelans through unexpected telephone contacts and appearances in television, serving as his own medical spokesman.

Opposition, who chose the young Governor Henrique Capriles as its sole candidate to measure yourself with Chavez in the October elections, insists that must appoint a replacement that meets the work of Government, but a strong Chavez, the Parliament and the Cabinet ensures that it is not necessary to.
