Madrid, may 2011.- in relation to the comments that the study of SEMERGEN on the analysis on the situation of family physicians in Spain ”, has given rise in some areas, we want to clarify the following questions about your realización:
– it is a study which has chosen a sample of 1,500 family doctors working in public centres for primary care with the intention to present data disaggregated on the basis of geographical areas (CCAA) and representing the universe full of Spanish AP doctors working in public health Spanish.
– through the catalog of centres for primary care NHS provided by the Ministry of health and Consumer Affairs, company specializing in research in health (IRS) Adelphi Targis results, carried out a random sweep of all the health centres to complete the sample quota fixed in each autonomous community. All details are reflected in the outcome document published on the website of SEMERGEN and in all media, and delivered to all the scientific societies of primary care.

-SEMERGEN as a scientific society that represents a large number of doctors of AP in our country, in their concern for work and for primary care and be committed to improve their quality of care, has been the concern of this study in order to share this document with all national and regional health authoritiesas well as other organizations such as trade unions, official colleges of physicians, scientific societies and all interested people. Considered necessary to specify that this research study reflects the opinion of the majority of doctors of AP, and arises precisely as a reaction to view documents made by scientific societies, among which we covered in the evidence to situations and circumstances where not can be used the same, either because there is not enough experience, or because there are no adequate studies, nor situations are comparable to those of our country, or because they may be biased.
