Sonia Castedo, Mayor of Alicante, inaugurated the 2nd Symposium Mediterranean of Surgery Vascular.

the meeting has taken place in the Hotel Meliá Alicante, 21 and October 22.

alicante, October of 2011- the city of Alicante hosted during on 21 and 22 October 2 ° Mediterranean Vascular Surgery Symposium, organized by the society of the Valencia d´Angiología, Vascular Surgery i Endovacular (SVACV).

The days have been opened in an official ceremony presided by the Mayor of Alicante, Sonia Castedo Ramos, along with José Ángel Sanchez Navajas, territorial director of Alicante, Department of health; Antonio Marqués Espí, Manager of the Department of health of Alicante; Salvador Martínez Malendez, President of the SVACV and Francisco Morant Gimeno, service Chief of Vascular Surgery of the general Hospital of Alicante, Vice President of the Societat de la Comunitat Valenciana d´Angiología, Vascular Surgery i Endovacular (SVACV) and President of the symposium.

This meeting is presented as a forum for updating scientific and dissemination of the specialty of vascular surgery and endovascular; for the approach to diagnosis and management of patients with arterial and venous pathologies.

Within the topics have been the basic elements of Endovascular therapies; in particular correcting endovascular aneurysm of abdominal aorta and the most current and novel of failure treatment venous safeno‐femoral, popliteal femoro‐ and varicose veins of lower limbs. Therefore have been involved speakers of recognized prestige, from hospitals of Valencia, Granada, Valladolid, Salamanca, Oviedo and Alicante.

The meeting has been developed on the basis of two round tables: treatment sector fémoro‐poplíteo endovascular and distal ” and multidisciplinary care of the patient with vascular pathology ” and a practical teórico‐ workshop: diabetic foot ”. Also, there will be a space for workshops where attendees may be practices of measurement with simulators, endoláser and radio frequencies.

Attendees have been able to present lectures and clinical cases which encouraged the participation and the scientific enrichment of the Symposium. October 22, after the closing ceremony, has been awards for the best Oral communication and the best clinical case.

This symposium, held in the Hotel Meliá Alicante, has been recognized in interest health by the Ministry of health of the Comunitat Valenciana.
