Note that in situations of cold diminish the defenses and changes occur in the body to facilitate the emergence of diseases such as influenza, bronchitis and pneumonia, which are aggravated chronic diseases, especially the heart and respiratory infections.

There are a few high-risk groups, in which it is necessary to reinforce preventive measures. These groups are formed by persons without resources or homeless; the chronically ill; the newborn babies and infants; older persons; people with cases of alcohol poisoning, and the people who practice sports outdoors in cold areas (mountaineers, mountaineers and hunters).

Thus, the Bank Health Department experts recommend limit activities outdoors to cold temperatures, especially if you belong to some group of risk, and entertain, with special attention to the head (wool CAP, hat), neck (scarf), feet (footwear resistant to water, cotton and wool socks) and hands (gloves)(, mittens).

Inside the House is also advisable to have a good thermal insulation of the House, avoiding air currents and losses of heat by doors and Windows. In this sense, the heating system must be used in order to maintain a temperature of around 22 degrees.

It is important to maintain and strengthen the habits of hygiene, since, during the winter months there is an increase of the movement of viruses, infected, especially through the air and in contact with the hands. For this reason, it is necessary to wash your hands frequently and, to the cough or sneeze, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue of disposable paper or the inside of the elbow.

It is important, also hot meals to provide the energy needed, without renouncing a varied diet. It should not be forgotten increase water consumption, as in times of cold, as that in the heat, occurs a greater loss of liquids that must be replenished.
