The clinician creates the dam Professor awards to young Ideas innovative.

Spain, February 2012. Promote creative and entrepreneurial activity of young researchers and technologists in the field of surgical technology, is the goal of the dam Professor awards for innovative Ideas young people, created by the innovation unit of the Institute for health research of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos (IdISSC).

This initiative is aimed at students of degree and postgraduate degree in any discipline bio or engineering, of any nationality, residing in Spain and under 35 years of age and be awarded original and unpublished ideas of design or technological innovation in the field of surgery (image)(, biomaterials, mHealth, Robotization, expert systems, etc. …)

in this first edition are two prizes will be awarded with 1000 euros each, and their inclusion in a programme of entrepreneurs of the above-mentioned innovation unit shall be assessed.

These awards, created pro cited innovation unit led by Dr. Julio Mayol, recognize the work of Dr. Jesús Álvarez Fernández-Represa, head of the Department of General Surgery and digestive apparatus I of Clinical Hospital and Professor of surgery of the Complutense University of Madrid, who throughout his career has promoted the incorporation of new technologies to the hospital Clínic and the national health system, in particular by the robotic surgery program which is director.
