Madrid, March 2012.- the Council of Government adopted on Thursday awarded, amounting to EUR 3.4 million, the contract management service and elimination of specific health care waste in the health centres in the Madrileñ serviceor health for one year. This amount represents a saving of 15% over the price of tender that was 4.082.835 €
the subject of this contract is to provide the service of management and disposal of specific health care waste in the health centres in the Madrid health service in order to improve through the adoption of appropriate criteria, the processes of classification, collection, transport, treatment and disposal thereof.
Waste covered by the contract are the special supply including waste from patients with infections, stabbing or cutting waste, crops and stocks of infectious agents. Medications are also within this contract cytotoxic and all the material in contact with them. Finally, the contract include the chemical wastes characterized as hazardous for its chemical pollution. It’s polluted waters of laboratory, functional solutions, medicines, reagents, laboratory, radiology, mercuriales derivative, contaminated empty containers and other hazardous waste waste.
