The Daphne journalistic Prize celebrates its 15th Edition and recognizes the positive approach and the sensitizer role of the media in the treatment of contraceptive information.

Madrid, March of 2013- the members of the jury of the 15th edition of the Daphne journalistic Prize have acknowledged the report ‘ the pill is no longer the bad film ” María Borjapublished in the supplement S fashion of ‘ El País ’, with Daphne 2012 journalistic award, endowed with 6,000 euros. For its part, the runner-up of this edition was María Sahuquillo for his work abortion rises 5% in a year of crisis ” published in El País. The award took place at a ceremony held at the Madrid Press Association, which has gathered journalists and experts who work for the health sexual and contraceptive, and which has been chaired by Carmen of irrigation as President of the Press Association of Madrid.

Jury prize XV Daphne

The jury of the 15th edition of this award is made by Dr. Isabel Serrano, of the Federation of State family planning and gynecologist of the Madrid City Council, Dr. Carmen Coll, gynecologist and Director of the program of attention to women in the Maresme (Catalan Institute of health); and Dr. Javier Martínez Salmeán, head of the service of Gynecology and obstetrics of Hospital Severo Ochoa in Madrid, as members of the team Daphne. The jury also has the participation of Mr. Javier López Iglesias, journalist specializing in health, Dr. José Vicente González, as President of the Spanish society of contraception, D. José María Catalán, journalist of health, and with all of them, Ms. Carlota Gomez as head of communication of Bayer in SpainThis last with voice but without vote.

Daphne team

The Team Daphne , comprising seven renowned experts in the field of Gynecology has as main objective to improve the health education and the health of Spanish women, with special attention to the promotion of information on the use of contraceptive methods that will help to improve the situation of our country in this sense.

Constituted officially in October 1996, its members meet periodically to consider joint studies (some of them published in prestigious scientific journals), collaborate in national surveys and disseminate the results of their activities.
