Castellón, 2011-August Commission of mediation Intercultural Health (CMIS) of the Department of health of Castelló has launched an initiative to improve healthcare to the Muslim faithful following Ramadan.

This Committee has prepared an information document which has moved to all health professionals in the Department, which explains what this tradition and what are their precepts.

Despite the fact that patients, women with menstruation, pregnant, the immature or elders are exempt from fasting, the members of the CMIS indicate what kind of medical procedures, as injections or use of eye drops are not break it, as well as recommendations to facilitate the faithful can follow them in an appropriate manner.

Among them, for example, is of that attempt to prescribe medications that should be taken in accordance with the period of fasting from sunrise to sunset.

The iMCS also makes this background document of the main moments in Ramadan as iftar the first meal after sunset or the suhur last before that comes out, and the health consequences they might have on certain types of patients.
