La Fundación Reina Sofia receives the award to the Social project of the year ”.

– This is the third edition of the awards Plus is more ” granted by the Foundation Bayard and Bayard publishing group

Madrid, December of 2011- the Foundation Queen Sofia received the award to the Social project of the year ”, within the framework of the Plus Awards is more ” granted by the Foundation Bayard and Bayard publishing group.

Bayard and Bayard Foundation launch the awards Plus is more ” to recognize the merits of public and private entities, businesses, campaigns and actions that have been carried out successful projects for older, with originality and respect society.

The awards Plus is more ” are born as a result of the communication Multimedia Bayard Group senior project. For them, Bayard created the magazine Plus is more ”, a web page and the Vivir50Plus Hall, in order to respond, through different channels, their information needs and their expectations, as the quality of life or making staff.

La Fundación Reina Sofia

La Fundación Reina Sofia, formed in May 1977, is a joint entity of charitable and cultural character without spirit of profit and of a permanent nature. Since 1994, manages and promotes numerous projects education and health, as well as social and humanitarian aid which benefited children, adults, immigrants, disabled persons and affected by natural disasters.

From 2002 to 2007, one of the main lines of action of the Foundation Queen Sofia has been Alzheimer’s project, whose main exponent is today the Queen Foundation Alzheimer Center Sofia, opened in 2007 in Vallecas, where they have carried out so far 27 research projectssix of them at the international level. It has also generated more than 60 scientific publications and 38 communications at congresses and scientific meetings.

This year, the Foundation Reina Sofia carried out, with Pasqual Maragall Foundation, various events on the occasion of the international year of the research in Alzheimer’s disease 2011, which should be among the World Summit on research in Alzheimer’s disease that was held in Madrid last September.

Group Bayard

The Bayard group was born in France for almost 100 years as a publishing pioneer of a new concept to understand the love of reading for children and young people. In Spain, Bayard publishes each month 5 magazines in Spanish for children and young people, 3 in Catalan and 2 in English, who bear the stamp of the reading promotion Plan.

The Bayard Foundation stems from a spirit of service inherent to the group, to encourage reading, culture and the social aspects that interest and affect children, families and elderly, through different activities.
