El ICOFCV and UMH created the first Chair of physiotherapy research of Spain.

valencia, January 2013- the Dean of the College of physiotherapists of the Valencian Community (ICOFCV), Juan López Boluda, and the rector of the University Miguel Hernández (UMH) of Elche, Jesus Pastor Ciurana, have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of creating the Research Chair in physiotherapy, the first of these characteristics of Spain. The Director of the Chair will be the lecturer in the Department of pathology and surgery of the UMH, Dulce María Fuentes Morell.

The Chair aims to promote research and innovation in physiotherapy, physiotherapy in the socio-sanitary field development and the role of the physiotherapist as provider of health services to society through physical media.


this Chair, launched by the ICOFCV and UMH, aims to bring social and professional reality physiotherapy exercise. To do this, both institutions aim to promote new areas of professional practice to reduce the current migration of physiotherapists to Europe, where this profession is better implanted and more developed society and, consequently, provides more work.

In addition, the Chair aims to help self-employment for these professionals through the impetus of tools that enable them to successfully cope with greater starting up your own company. Actions that expand the generation of self-employment and the creation of businesses in physiotherapy will be fostered from the Chair. I.e., will be encouraged to learn to be entrepreneurs in health services.
