Vitoria, 2 Dec (EFE).-the lehendakari, Patxi López, has today accused the President of the Government of La Rioja, Pedro Sanz, to try to prevent women to abort their autonomous community, leading to Euskadi.

López has appeared today before the media in the corridors of the Basque Parliament to refer to the unleashed controversy when the Rioja Government decided to stop serving patients of the Rioja alavesa.

The lehendakari has said that the position of the Riojan Executive and, especially its President, is “totally unacceptable” because an attack on the right to health benefits universal.

He explained that the position of Sanz is not new, because it has “made of his particular war on Basque, of its antivasco, its electoral base”, although it has been pointed out that there may be other “hidden reasons” in this latest controversy.

Has referred to one of the documents sent by the Rioja Government into Basque in the failed health negotiation, which has had access Efe, which included the requirement that the Basque health assumed each year 500 abortions of La Rioja women.

Has insisted it will not allow that Sanz, “to relaunch his political career, play with the health of the Basque people” and it has clarified that the Government of Vitoria won’t open “no war with the neighboring communities and will not use patients as ammunition of demagogic confrontation”.

The lehendakari has said that the State of the autonomies, also with regard to health, “works very well and stops working when someone breaks it, when someone like the President of the Rioja wants to destroy the system”.

Following the announcement that the Basque Government will use “all the potential legal and institutional” to defend the universality of health care in Spain, López has regretted the “resounding silence” of the future Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy.

For this reason, he has sent a letter and also to the Minister of health, Leire Pajin, in to intervene immediately in this controversy and restore the patient care of the Rioja alavesa in Logroño.

Has pointed out that this controversy is an attack on “the water line of the project to fills them the mouth” when speaking of Spain, in reference to the PP.

It has also announced that it has ordered his Counselor of health, Rafael Bengoa, to request the Diputación Foral de Álava, while maintaining the current situation, enable free transportation so that the patients of the Rioja alavesa can move to Vitoria to receive assistance.
