Madrid, March 2012.- the need for a change in gender roles is still required, and although the crisis diminished resources, this time shortage ” reveals more evidence requiring the most vulnerable groups continue with an attentionspecialized ón. Therefore from the mauve project is he still committed to work towards equality between men and women in those contexts where drug use is present.

One of the activities developed by the mauve project to achieve this end, are the workshops targeted at women. Workshops designed for the purpose of strengthening their self-esteem, to empower them in a social situation disadvantaged, where the risk of substance abuse is high, as is the risk of intimate partner violence or family violence. Moreover, in many cases already presented personal situations in which there is not only a risk, but where the issue is already active.

These workshops provide a space that allows contact with the own welfare and experience is available to the same, in order to be less vulnerable to others, and that women be permitted to offer the gift of self-esteem.

It seeks to, through experiential techniques and other participatory, that women are observed themselves, and to reflect on their position in society by the fact of being women, and that them same value if the role must play according to the patriarchal system limits constantly to be able to cultivate their own space (interests personal)(, professional, recreational, cultural and social), as a basis for the development of their self-esteem. And of course throughout the sessions, works actively to seek the potentialities of every woman to promote their empowerment.

The every woman’s image of itself is quite dilapidated by the number of problems faced by its dual situation of difficulty: as women and as people at risk of social exclusion. Therefore, we reaffirm the need to continue working for the empowerment of women by strengthening their self-esteem.

The mauve project, after a career of more than 10 years, is still committed to defending the needs of the most vulnerable women, either by having suffered domestic violence in couples, or drug addictions, and will continue with enthusiasm and conviction the intervention which has been carried out in Group of women in the Comunidad de MadridCatalonia and Valencia.
