Madrid, 2011-may on the occasion of the world Lupus day, which commemorates the May 10the Spanish Federation of Lupus (FELUPUS), Member entity of COCEMFE, held on 6 and 7 may the X Congress of Lupus, a meeting open to the media so that they know the latest news about the disease and the needs of those affected.

In collaboration with the Association grenadine, FELUPUS organized this year a new edition of its National Congress. The event was developed in the Magna Aula of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Granada with seating for 300 guests, and brought together specialists of recognised prestige in caring for patients with lupus.

World day of the 2011 Lupus

Lupus worldwide associations have come together to reclaim the relevance of the world Lupus day on May 10. More than 5 million people worldwide have Lupus, an autoimmune chronic disease that mostly affects young women in fertile age.

The world Lupus day focuses on the need to increase social awareness, improve health services for these patients, promote research into the causes and cure for Lupus, improve medical diagnosis and treatment and epidemiological studies of the global impact of this disease.

The Spanish Federation of Lupus (FELUPUS) is a non-governmental organization non-profit that formed in 1996 with the overall objective of coordinating the work of its affiliated associations, unifying criteria and actions among all to contribute to the best State in people with Lupus and their families, both at the psychological level, as in the social and health care. It currently consists of 23 associations of Lupus in the whole country, which provides support and information to those affected, both the latest news and treatments, as in the resources they have at their disposal. Work in network at the national and international level, being member of COCEMFE, Lupus Europe and the American Lupus Foundation and is part of the Committee international organizer of the world Lupus day.
