Barakaldo, 2013 February.- Sanitas Residencial Barakaldo hosted the third edition of the exhibition of drawings and paintings of the company. Until the past 24 February, the inhabitants have been able to visit an art exhibition carried out by people with dementia.

You sanitas Residencial bet by artistic disciplines as a means to help people with dementia to group work, socialize with other residents and stimulate their cognitive and sensory abilities.

Art can be an excellent means of communication through which thoughts and emotions even in very advanced stages of dementia can be displayed. Therefore, in each of the 40 centers of the company multiple workshops in painting and art are organized to promote people with dementia feel active and motivated.

Thus, with works that produce the elderly in various artistic activities, is set each year the calendar of the company. Thirteen works – one month more cover – which have been selected from 220 drawings and paintings, and now can visit in situ in Sanitas Residencial Barakaldo.

In this third edition, 40 Sanitas residential centers will host the exhibition thus reaching the 10 autonomous communities where the company has a presence: Aragon, Andalusia, Madrid, Castile and Leon, country Vasco, Galicia, Cantabria, Catalonia, Valencia and Navarre.

In addition, elders feel pleased with itself for be able to show their works and those of his companions of residence to their family and friends, something that improves mood and keeps them active.
