Sydney (Australia), 20 feb (EFE).-one out of four students, mainly males, suffer from overweight or obesity in secondary schools in Australia, according to a medical study released today in the oceanic country.

The study, which was based on surveys to 14,000 students in 238 schools across the country, stresses that low socio-economic status increases the risk of minors suffering from overweight or obesity, according to the local agency AAP.

These factors, according to the study published in the medical journal of Australia, linked to the use of electronic means and exposure to television, as well as the lack of physical activity and appropriate hours of sleep at night, favor the propensity for obesity or overweight. EFE
