AELMHU chosen as one of the best initiatives of the pharmacy of the year.

Madrid, March 2012.- the Association Spanish laboratories of medicines orphans and Ultra-Huérfanos (AELMHU) has received, for its creation about a year ago, one of the prizes for the best initiative of the pharmacy of the year in the category best project Solidario and patronageorganized by mail pharmacist.

AELMHU is an association non-profit formed by several pharmaceutical companies engaged in trying to improve the situation of patients with rare diseases through investment in the discovery and development of innovative therapies.

Mail pharmacist has awarded this Association because they help to improve the world of pharmacy, pharmaceutical care and health with his creation. Recognition as these motivate us to continue to meet our objectives and increase, thus knowledge about rare and ultra-raras diseases ”, expresses Juan Ferrero, President of AELMHU.

The Association aims main stimulate the assessment of medicines orphans and ultra-huérfanos, promote actions that recognize the value of this type of treatment and therapeutic and keep its members coordinated their actions to the social and governmental institutions.

Also, AELMHU intends to constantly maintain activities to facilitate the rapid and equitable access to medicines orphans and ultra-huérfanos for all those affected; enable spaces for collaboration with the medical and health, areas as well as the scientific community, with regard to the promotion of knowledge and the benefits of the same and, finally, unify among its members the challenge of convert to orphan drugs and rare diseases as an important area of health concern of our society

On AELMHU

partnership Spanish drugs laboratories, orphans and Ultra-Huérfanos (AELMHU) created in 2011, was born of the need to make visible the special characteristics of these diseases and their specific treatments, medications orphans and ultra-huérfanos, in order to improve the situation of those affected by these very rare diseases.

Its main objectives include increasing awareness on rare and ultra-raras diseases and the benefits of having available drugs that treat them as well as lead and promote actions that recognize the value of social drugs and therapeutic orphans and ultra-huérfanos keep their members coordinated their actions to the social institutions and policies (including the national health system) andFinally, to facilitate the rapid and equitable access to medicines orphans and ultra-huérfanos for all those affected.
