Around of 1,300 experts will gather at this event which will address the scientific aspects most relevant and current in this field.

The opening Conference shall be borne by the Professor of Biochemistry and molecular biology Federico Mayor Zaragoza and will be assisted by the excmo. Mr. Mayor of Malaga, D. Francisco de Torre Prados, and the Managing Director of the SAS (Andalusian health service), excmo. Mr. José Luis Gutiérrez Pérez.

The clinical laboratory is one of the areas of health that has most evolved in recent decades, so it professionals require constantly in training process, especially in fields like Molecular Biology and cytogenetics, aimed at facilitating solutions in the field of emerging diseases. Also the clinical laboratory has also changed to the extent that its management has become more professional and had taken steps of co-responsibility with clinicians in the management of the demand.

Congress offers an opportunity to establish contacts between all practitioners and disseminate the scientific work carried out, as well as share and exchange ideas and knowledge. The Scientific Committee of the Congress has prepared an ambitious and balanced program of activities composed of four courses pre-Congress, two conferences and ten Symposium.

And to this end, there will be – with experts of first level and prestige of Spain – with contributions from three international avant-garde figures, such as Stephan Carsten, Universitätsmedizin (Berlin, Germany); Prasad Devarajan, Cincinnati Children’s ’ s Hospital Medical Center (Ohio, United States); and Armand Perret – Liaudet, Groupement Hospitalier Est. Also this year the Congress presented various developments. On the one hand, with the intention of bringing new technologies to the Congress, have been launched the digital posters. To this end, there will be a crew of 12 electronic panels with touch screens, which will be available by subject, author, title, number etc. All posters will be incorporated in the interactive screens every day of the Congress. Also this year, certificates of posters and attendance to the Congress will be in electronic format.

On the other hand, shall be carried survey attendees on various topics of interest to develop one Congress still more in line with the expectations of the participants in the future.
