Courses in 2009-10 ski for people with disabilities

-the Organization has planned eight weeks between December 2009 and April 2010

– Besides, maintaining courses in Pilates, Golf, paddle tennis, hipotherapy, swimming and urban camps for people with disabilities

Madrid, November 2009- the Sport Foundation and challenge their courses of Alpine skiing for people with disabilities in the Sierra Nevada (Granada), kicking off the 2009-10 season premieres this month of December

Courses will be held this month in the week of 13 to 18 December in opening hours from 10.00 to 13.00 hours on the adapted track of Borreguiles. The same will have specialized monitors that give class disability of each of the students, whether they are people with physical, intellectual, sensory or visual disabilities.

For five months, the Sports Foundation and challenge has planned eight-week of December 2009 to April 2010 that will have classes of acclimatization to the field theory provided by each of teachers explaining the details of adapted skiing and a final period of practicefirst on tracks “ soft ” for later slipping by more difficult to ski slopes.

In addition, students of the course are included in the package accommodation in half board for the participant and a companion, as the Sports Foundation and challenge attempts, thus promoting the interactivity between people with and without disabilities, rental of adapted material prepared by the Foundation itselfLys and daily three-hour taught by specialized teachers classes.

Tailored courses to be conducted in December

GOLF- every Tuesday in the sports complex of Somontes in Madrid (at time of 18.30 to 20.00 hours), and Wednesdays at the national centre of Golf de Madrid (at the same time than the previous ones). Any disability.

PILATES- in the Pilates Studio in plaza San Juan de la Cruz, 5 (Madrid), 17.00 to 19.00 hour every Monday until January 18. For people with physical disabilities.

HIPOTHERAPY.- Tuesdays at the riding school of San Jorge, San Sebastián de los Reyes (Madrid), held classes at 16.30 to 19.00 hour until December 22. Similarly, the riding school of Fuente el Saz (Madrid), also gives courses in equine from 17.00 to 19.30 hours every Friday until December 18. All disabilities.

PADDLE- Thursdays from 17.00 to 20.00 hours at the sports center of Somontes until December 17. All types of disabilities.

Swimming- Together with the children of employees of the banco Santander with a disability in the city financial of the Bank located in Las Rozas (Madrid), in 1645 to 18.45 hours every Friday until December 18.

Urban-camps In the sports complex of Somontes a Saturday and a Sunday per month. This month, they will be held on Sunday, December 13 and Saturday, December 19.

El Hospital Universitario de Fuenlabrada has won the award for best service of internal medicine and the Honorable mention to the prize best Pediatrics in the fourth edition of the Awards Best in Class. The awards ceremony was carried out last Tuesday, November 24, at the gala offered in the Palacio de Congresos and the music Euskalduna Jauregia Bilbao.

Madrid, November 2009- On the occasion of the international day and European of persons with disabilities, to be held on December 3, COCEMFE wants to remind the society there are still many physical barriers that prevent persons with disabilities to carry a standardized life and on equal footing with the rest of the population.

Curbs too high or barriers, tunnels in sidewalks, paper mills or badly placed streetlights on the streets, are just some of the problems that have faced every day with people with disabilities.

To the President of COCEMFE, Mario García, the urban planning of the cities on the basis of criteria of universal accessibility is an obligation. “ Spain should improve this aspect, first, because there are plans of accessibility in all communities which require designing environments passable for all, and second, because it sends him the the UN Convention on persons with disabilities ”, according to García.

The entity brings together more than 1,500 organizations divided into regional confederations, national entities and provincial federations which in turn, grouped to different local associations.
