Abbott launches FreeStyle InsuLinx, new control system of glucose which includes a rapid insulin dose calculator is designed for patients with diabetes who use insulin to control their disease Madrid, 2012-may Abbott presents a new system called blood glucose control ‘ FreeStyle InsuLinx ’. It’s the first system of control of blood glucose of Abbott which includes a calculator dose flexible rapid insulin (bolus) that adapts to the needs of patients in therapy basal bolus. The new meter FreeStyle InsuLinx offers useful functions for the patient as a touch screen, a book of automated registration, preferences for personalization and the possibility of connecting via USB to easily send reports with FreeStyle Auto-Assist data management software. The FreeStyle InsuLinx system is now available in our country since the month of April. In Europe there are approximately 55.4 million people with diabetes, of which approximately 3.1 million live in Spain. Around about 360,000 require or rely on insulin to control their disease. The correct calculation of the dose of insulin is one of the main difficulties they encounter in their treatment. According to a study, nearly 60% of people with diabetes make mistakes in the calculation of the dose of insulin.
