Barcelona, March of 2013. Bayer HealthCare launches Bepanthol ® eye drops, a sterile cornea that protects, moisturizes and lubricates the eye surface attenuating symptoms caused by external aggressions. The new dissolution, viscoelastic and transparent, is composed of natural biological substances.
Mechanical stress, caused by the use of contact lenses or ophthalmological diagnostic procedures; environmental stress, caused by exposure to contaminated environments or air conditioners; and visual stress, motivated by the intensive eye effort after many hours on the computer, among others, are the main causes of dryness or irritation of the ocular mucosa. In addition, in individuals over the age of 45, about 20% of women and 15% of men, symptoms of ocular dryness, clinically manifested with varying degrees of severity.
The new eye drops of Bayer HealthCare allows you to relieve the discomfort caused by these agents due to its composition based on hyaluronic acid and dexpanthenol. The hialurato of sodium, present at a 0.15%, forms a homogeneous and stable protective film that remains for a long period in the ocular epithelial layer (the lining of the retina), without altering the vision. Similarly, dexpanthenol (2%), allows to set lots of water which helps refresh and protect the eye, in addition to promoting hyaluronic acid moisturizing properties. Bepanthol eye drops contains no preservatives, and also has a high viscosity, which ensures the prolonged permanence, hidrantando corneal surface.
