Brasilia, 20 mar ( EFE).-the Brazilian Government today announced that it will start a vast investigation into tenders convened by hospitals and other public health agencies after a television channel reported serious irregularities.

The decision to investigate all the processes from procurement of materials and procurement of services was published in the Official journal and recommends a particular attention with four private companies working with hospitals across the country and that the TV channel Globo accused of fraud in a sanatorium in Rio de Janeiro.

In a widespread story last Sunday, globe showed how one of its reporters posing for two months by “purchasing manager” of a Rio de Janeiro hospital, in which during that time received representatives of companies interested in participating in a fictitious and invented bidding to verify their behavior.

With cameras and microphones hidden and authorized by the direction of the hospital, the reporter exposed to agents of four companies, which shamelessly offered him commissions of between 10 and 30 percent to do with contracts.

The four companies mentioned in the report are Toesa, which offers services for hospitals and municipalities vehicles; Locanty, dedicated to garbage collection; Bella Vista, which provides food; and the Builder Rufolo.

Authorities have found four to provide various services to public bodies in the area of health at the national, regional and municipal levels, which is why the Government has decided that the contracts with these companies would be suspended and investigated to determine if they were granted under the Act. EFE
