Of clinical trials, CAIBER, Hispaniola platform and the Centre of biomedical research in Diabetes and associated metabolic diseases, CIBERDEM, network have signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop projects and trials to achieve progress in the research of diabetes and its associated diseases.

“Has established a framework for collaboration to achieve both scientific and technological advances to help improve health care, as well as an improvement in the welfare of the citizens in the field of diabetes and its related diseases”, stated the director of CAIBER, Joaquín Casariego.

This Convention provides for the establishment of a joint monitoring Commission, in which there will be two representatives both CAIBER and CIBERDEM, with a view to the monitoring of the Convention.

“this agreement will serve to allow the knowledge generated by the groups that are part of our Consortium to promote clinical projects to assess new drugs and new applications, to provide better care to people with diabetes and its complications,” insisted, for its part, the scientific director of CIBERDEM, Ramon Gomis.

Finally, the director-general of CAIBER has highlighted the “threat” posed by the diabetes public health in Spain and in the world. “will the agreement with CIBERDEM allow us investigate more effectively in the search for the best tools to fight against this disease and benefit to patients and their families”, has been completed.
