CECOVA calls on the Ombudsman, Ombudsman ombuds and the parliamentary group of the PSOE in the Congress to submit action of unconstitutionality against the Decree of cuts

Valencia, March 2012.- the Council of nursing of the Valencian Community (CECOVA), following what was agreed in the assemblies and meetings of Collegiate School of nursing of AlicanteCastellón and Valencia in relation to cuts in the autonomous public sector reflected in the Decree Law 1/2012 of urgent measures for the reduction of the deficit in the Valencian Community, has transmitted to the Ombudsman, the Síndic’s Ombudsman and the parliamentary group of the PSOE in the Congress of Deputies (since they need at least 50 members) in interests of legality and in defence of constitutional rights, appropriate to the study and commencement of action of unconstitutionality before the Constitutional Court against the cited regulations of the Generalitat Valenciana, which directly affects the collective of nursing.

Your request to these bodies indicates that the Act has been to introduce severe cutbacks in staff of the autonomous administration costs which, without justification, have led to the depletion of important rights for all health personnel as a dependent of the Generalitat Valenciana whole andtherefore also of nurses.

The cuts in the area of staff costs imposed by the Generalitat Valenciana have been approved through Decree-Law, when the justifications that have led to this are not true nor real, but fully apparent and fictional, what follows from the fact that the regional administration, since some time, now was aware and conscious of the situation andHowever, there was then no need for extraordinary or emergency measures so drastic and manifestly unfair, without that in our view, there has been a substantial change in the situation in this regard.

Since the CECOVA is deeply regrets that the Ministry of health has not given his arm to twist to solve the serious effects of the Decree of cuts in health-care workers, on which is loaded the weight of responsibility for an economic situation that in any way to blame. Unrest among health professionals in the public sector which has correspondence between the of the private sector as a result of the labor reform that has led the call for a general strike on March 29 and to which from the CECOVA understands the decision of nurses working in this area to support the mobilization.
