Madrid, January 2012- the Spanish Confederation of people with physical disability and organic (COCEMFE) congratulates to the Ministry of health, social services and equality on the initiative of the Ministry of social services and equality measures to ensure equal opportunities in employment and ensure compliance with the reserve of 2% of the jobs in the companies of more than 50 workers.

In this sense, the Confederation is essential to increase the labour inspectorates to ensure that companies comply with reservation quotas and apply the penalties provided for in the law, as well as the promotion of public procurement to those companies that hire people with disabilities or the special employment centres.
The rate of activity of persons with disabilities only reaches 36%, while the population generally exceeds 75%. These figures, for Mario GarcÃa, are an example of the urgent need to adopt a new law of labor inclusion of people with disabilities, who feels a renewed basis to achieve maximum employability and activation of this sector of the population ”.
People with disabilities need to have strong rules to regulate and promote their access to employment, so that can increase their incomes and equalize the population in general, more than half of our collective currently has income below the median income.
