Requena, October of 2011- the Department of health of Requena has presented its new primary care management team led by Marisa de Reinoso, Manager of the Department.

Immaculate Cervera, who held the position of head of the basic area of Utiel, has been recently appointed Director of primary care of the Department of health of Requena. “ I am very excited with this opportunity and work every day to ensure the best care to our patients ”, points out Dr. Cervera.

Madrid, 2011-October inside of Spanish health care, private health, represents approximately 30% of the activity and generates a volume of nearly 27,000 million euroswhich represents 2.5% of GDP in Spain. This is one of the conclusions drawn from the update of the study of the private health Sector, prepared by Áliad and presented in the framework of the 7th meeting on excellence in private health care (SEP).

But despite these economic data, the evolution of the sector remains parallel to the evolution of the national economy. Health expenditure in Spain still among the lowest in the more developed countries, below the average for the OECD (Organisation for cooperation and economic development), while the proportion of spending health private on the audience is among the highestabove the developed countries, and well over countries such as the United Kingdom, despite having a universal health system.

According to this study, the private sector is for the first time since 2005 in decline, not so much in activity as in volume of business and therefore profitability of enterprises. The decrease is a 3.45%, compared to 7.60% growth from the previous period (2006 – 2009) represents a step backwards.

In terms of employment, the number of employed in the private health has declined in a 5.40% compared to the 2009. Also, there have been changes in the distribution of occupation since 2006: with a loss of employment salaried 7.60%, has been an increase of almost 12% self-employment.

Finally, it should be noted that the private health sector has increased its fragmentation in recent years. Health businesses have increased by 10% between 2010 and 2011. This increase in entrepreneurship, 10 per cent this year, is however almost exclusively in the segment of enterprises without employees or one or two employees. But these micro have lost significant weight of the sector’s turnover connection that had in the past.
